Hot air balloon rides, music, the smell of grapes in the air — harvest festivals are a time to celebrate the rewards of the summer’s labor.
At Lemon Creek Winery, celebrate the season with award-winning wines and live music at the 16th Annual Harvest Festival Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon to 7 p.m.
The entrance fee will be $5 for ages 21 and over and will include admission, a wine glass and tasting ticket for five tastings. Ages 20 and under are free.
A family friendly event, the festivities will include music by P.T. and The Cruisers, a rock band from South Bend, along with a dance contest and hula hoop contest to be judged by the band.
A raffle will be held to support the Special Olympics through southwest Michigan’s Blossomland Learning Center. Tickets are $5 per person and $9 per couple.
The raffle will give entrants the chance to win many prizes, including a 60-foot tethered hot air balloon ride at Lemon Creek Winery the day of the festival, weather permitting.
Other prizes will include dinner for two at Baroda Tap in Baroda; a hotel stay for one night at Candlewood Suites in Stevensville; two seats on a wine tour bus or Wine-O-Wagon from Fruitful Vines Wine Tours; two tickets to the St. Joseph Symphony Society in St. Joseph; and two tickets to a show by the Twin City Players.
Food from Outdoor Kitchen and the festival’s corn-on-the-cob will be available for purchase.
Coolers are not permitted; attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
