Lancers get by Niles netters

STEVENSVILLE — Niles traveled to Lakeshore Wednesday night for a Big 16 West Division match.
Niles took two of four singles matches, but only one doubles match as it was defeated by the Lancers, 5-3.
Niles’ Brad Miller picked up a win at two singles over Connor Landeck 6-4, 6-3 and has continued to look strong for the Vikings.
Also picking up wins were Alec Brown at No. 3 singles over Samir Shah 6-2, 6-2 and at one doubles with Danny Touhey-Taylor Farmer picking up a win over Alex Nunder-Mike Welsh 6-2, 6-3.
The Vikings played hard and kept most of their matches very close.
Niles at Mattawan
Niles plays to 4-4 tie. On Monday night Niles and Mattawan battled it out in a big-16 showdown.
Niles and Mattawan each took two singles matches and two doubles matches to finish the night with a 4-4 tie.
Three matches went into three sets each making it an exciting night for tennis. In the final victory for Niles, Nick Zeigert-Matt Miller picked up a win over Nick Bertoldi-Zac Stoner 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.
