Eddies tie up Bridgman 4-4

EDWARDSBURG — Despite giving up a forfeit, visiting Bridgman was able to force a 4-4 draw with Edwardsburg Tuesday afternoon in the Lakeland Conference opener for the Eddies.

The Bees forfeited to Edwardsburg at No. 4 singles, but were able to take three of the four doubles flights to earn the tie.

Edwardsburg won three of the four singles flights, including the forfeit. Anthony Dopp defeated Joe Koehler (6-0, 6-3) and Cory Stoneburner defeated Brod Montayne (6-2, 6-0).

The Eddies’ lone victory in doubles play came at the fourth flight where Linden Jones and Austin Horvath defeated Edward Shauer and Chris Mensinger 6-0 and 6-0.

The Eddies travel to Coloma today for another league match.
