First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan welcomes the Rev. Jan Van Lear as its parish associate.
Van Lear is an honorably retired pastor and will be working with the church as an unpaid parish associate assisting the Rev. Patricia Ramsden, pastor, by helping to serve communion, including communion to the home-bound; filling the pulpit at times; teaching classes in spiritual growth; helping with pastoral care; and serving as moderator of session when Ramsden cannot be there.
Van Lear is a familiar face not only to First Presbyterian’s in Buchanan but throughout the area, as she has served as interim pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Mishawaka, Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Niles following successful ministries in Illinois.
