HarmonyFest in Three Rivers Labor Day weekend

Published 6:20 pm Sunday, August 28, 2011

The 19th annual HarmonyFest will once again fill downtown Main Street in Three Rivers with music on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend — Sept. 4.

Free and open to all, HarmonyFest celebrates the diversity of the community through the universal language of music.

Local merchants will be open as well as street vendors selling food and other merchandise.

Veterans groups will be performing an outreach to area veterans, providing information about the many services available to them.

HarmonyIdol, a musical talent competition, will start at 3 p.m. at the Riviera Theatre.

See their Web page for entry info.

Kidzone, fun and games for the kids, will be in the Mural Mall from 4 to 6 p.m.

HarmonyFest is unique in a lot of ways.

One of the things that sets this event apart from so many others is that they don’t receive any tax money or support from city or local governments.

At the same time, they strongly believe in the value of keeping the festival free to everyone!

Without tax or ticket money, HarmonyFest is completely dependent on gifts from its community. This great event happens every year because of the generosity of people.

Go to TRHARMONYFEST.COM or look for it on Facebook.

Music will start at 1:30 and end at 10:30 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair and have a great day!
