Michael Nussa of Fort Wayne, Ind. And Valerie Burns of Granger, Ind. captured the 10K titles at the 37th Annual Steve’s Run Saturday morning.

Nussa ran a time of 34:04 to beat Ben Jacobs from Three Rivers by nearly a half a minute as Jacobs ran a time of 34:33. Miguel Lozano Jr. of Mishawaka, Ind. (34:35), Brad Hess of Fort Wayne (34:40) and Samuel Felton of St. Joseph (35:13) rounded out the top five finishers.

Niles’ Sam VandenHeede grabbed a 12th place finish with a time of 39:19.

Burns, who was the overall 5K winner in 2008 and placed fifth in the 5K in 2009, finished with a time of 40:52 on Saturday.

Thereseann Huprikar of Freeport was second with a time of 40:56, while Adrienne Curtis of Evansville, Ind. was third (43:11), Jordan Mornout, also of Evansville, was fourth (43:11) and Middlebury, Ind.’s Olivia Golden was fifth (44:45).

Cassopolis’ Abigail Paul earned a top 10 finish as she ran 46:35 to finish ninth.
