Charlene P. Travis, 78, of Niles, Michigan formerly of Buchanan died Wednesday July 27 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles.

Charlene was born June 17, 1933 in Nashua, Minn. to the late August and Mary Rossow Nehring who preceded her in death.

On July 14, 1973 in Buchanan she married Robert G. Travis Sr. who preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1993.

Charlene is survived by two stepdaughters Mary Podjan of Niles and Patricia Vandenburg of Buchanan. Also surviving are a stepson Mike Travis of Buchanan, two grandchildren and one great grand child. A stepson Robert G. Travis and a step grandchild preceded her in death

Charlene was employed by Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan where she held the position of manager of the Tele Communications Department retiring in 1985 after 34 years. She was a graduate of Buchanan High School and a lifetime resident of Buchanan.

In her retirement she enjoyed doing crafts and working crossword puzzles.

Charlene was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, 509 West 4th St. in Buchanan where a funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m.
