Good review has big impact

Dear editor:

You just never know what kind of impact a small business can make on a city. Several weeks ago a satisfied customer who is a writer for the Kalamazoo Gazette had an opportunity to eat at Linda’s Hob Nob restaurant in downtown Niles. The writer was so impressed with her dining experience that Hob Nob was included in an article she wrote that  reviewed southwestern Michigan dining establishments. This led to a group of between 15 and 20 people making dining reservations later this month at Hob Nob and while here will be visiting downtown businesses of interest.
Then this week a group of 30 to 40 people from Chicago were chartering a tour bus to Tabor Hill and went online to pick a place to have lunch on their way there. They chose Hob Nob for their luncheon, citing that it was the “cutest” one they saw online! The group had planned on visiting several downtown shops but due to their bus being an hour late arriving, they were unable to. However, at the conclusion of their lunch, the organizer told Linda Nelson, owner of Hob Nob, that they planned to make a return trip so they could not only enjoy another meal at the restaurant but would be able to take in what they missed this time around.
It’s pretty impressive when a small town restaurant can entice bus loads of residents from the larger cities to Niles for a meal!
