Quest for the Blossomland Cup begins Saturday

The quest for the Blossomland Cup will begin Sunday with a pair of first round matches.

The Tornados, who finished fourth in the First Division, will take on Second Division champion St. Joe Kickers Blau at 2 p.m. at the Kicker’s Club in Arden.

The other opening round match will pit St. Joe Kickers Premier against Whirlpool United at 5 p.m. at the Kicker’s Club. Premier was third place in the First Division and Whirlpool United runner-up in the Second Division.

First Division champion Wolverines drew a first round bye and will face the winner of the Tornados-Kickers Blau match Sunday, July 24 at the Kicker’s Club at 5 p.m. Athletic Jaier, which finished second in the First Division, also received a first round bye and will take on the Kickers Premier-Whirlpool United winner in the first match July 24 at 2 p.m.

The Blossomland Cup title match will be Sunday, July 31 at the Kicker’s Club beginning at 2 p.m.

In the final regular season match of the year, P&R FC blanked the Tornados 3-0. Kevin Chaddock, Len Amat and Nick Rueb all scored goals for P&R.
