Storm knocks out power

Trees toppled by Monday morning’s lightning storm knocked out power to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.
There is a vehicle pinned inside this mound of foliage. City Manager Kevin Anderson reminded Dowagiac City Council Monday night of its contract with Indian Lake and Sister Lakes to maintain lift stations all day and throughout the night. “
We might end up having a 48-hour operation. Our hats are off to all of our crews, who are pushing real hard right now to keep services strong. Crews will be at it awhile all over.” Mayor Don Lyons happened to be at Magician Lake Monday afternoon “and they didn’t have any power out there.”
