Donna M. Rice, 70, of Dowagiac, died on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Timbers of Cass County.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1940 in Hartford, the daughter of Everett and Marion (Schilling) Rose.

Donna was united in marriage to John Rice, who precedes her in death.    She had been employed as a nurse’s aide at the Dowagiac Nursing Home and had worked for James Heddon and Sons.

Donna was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews.  Her loving family includes her sisters Dian (Dave) Giratos of Petersburg, Ill., Beverly (Tom) Freeman of Lexington, Ky.; brother Jim (Betty) Rose of Berrien Springs; sister-in-law Becky Rose of Coloma and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Rose.
