NILES — David Boyd, 52, of Niles, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the University of Michigan Health Systems in Ann Arbor with his wife Rhonda by his side.

In 1977 David graduated from Niles High School, where he played trombone in the marching band.

He served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy. After he retired from the Navy he worked as an electrical contractor for 12 years.

A service to honor and celebrate David’s life will be held on Friday, July 1, at Bethel Baptist Church in Niles at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Pierman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the Youth Group of Bethel Baptist Church or Gideon’s International.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Niles.
