Louise’s life began on June 27, 1922, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Charles H. and Cecil (Hatfield) Mosher.
She was a 1940 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School.
Louise worked at the Round Oak Stove Co., where her father was a superintendent. She later worked as the assistant activity director of Dowagiac Nursing Home.
Louise was very proud of her family, and her greatest joy was being around them all. She came from a very large and adoring family, who will greatly miss her love and all her wonderful stories.
Her family includes: her children, Mike (Noushin) Vylonis of Orlando, Fla., Lynn Garrison of Alabama, John (Nancy) Vylonis of Dowagiac, Kathy Jurgensen of Niles, Mark (Karen) Vylonis of Buchanan and Kara (Pat) Shelton of Dowagiac; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Louise, 88, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; seven brothers, Robert, Richard, James, Jere, Herbert, Sidney and Charles Mosher; two sisters, Jane Myrup and Mary Etta Valdes; three husbands, Tom Rutter, John Vylonis, and Albert (Clare) Thumm; and two grandchildren.
Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel.
Louise was a longstanding member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.
She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
