BROOKLYN – With about 20 minutes before the start of the race, here are a few facts you need to know about today’s Helluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400.
- Kurt Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award with a speed of 188.699. It was Busch’s 15th pole in 379 starts. It was also his third straight pole and eighth Top 10 starting spot in 2011.
- Brian Vickers was the last driver to win three consecutive poles. That occurred in 2009, when two qualifying sessions were canceled by weather. Ryan Newman is the last driver to win three straight poles in consecutive races. “Flyin’ Ryan” accomplished that feat in 2007.
- Penske Racing has won four straight poles as Brad Keselowski captured the pole in Charlotte. Team owner, Roger Penske, is the former owner of Michigan International Speedway.
- David Reutimann has four Top 10 starts this season and his fourth in nine races at MIS.
- Matt Kenseth has his fourth Top 10 starting spot at Michigan International and his fourth in 14 Sprint Cup races in 2011.
