Live blog: Halfway point

BROOKLYN – As the race reached the midway point, Kyle Busch grabbed the lead from Greg Biffle as the headed to the strip for the 100th time.
Biffle has led 68 laps, but once Busch got past him, he pulled away to over a 2-second lead with clean air on the nose of his car. He is one of the biggest movers of the day, gaining his 22nd place when taking over first place.
Biffle remained second with Kurt Busch was third, Matt Kenseth fourth and A.J. Allmendinger fifth.
Rounding out the top 10 were Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard.
The race has had just three cautions for a total of 10 laps. The third caution was for Brad Keselowski, who blew out a tire and hit the wall in Turn 1.
There are six cars out of the race at this point and the race average is 153.278.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a poor pit stop on the third caution and ended up restarting 19th. He has made little headway since then. Jimmie Johnson was also still mired two laps down in 36th place.
State Representative Sharon Tyler of Niles is in attendance today. She looked on as the Pure Michigan 400 was announced in the media center.
