Melissa ‘Missy’ Fairbanks, 44 / Jan. 28, 1967 — June 5, 2011

Melissa “Missy” Joan Fairbanks, 44, of Niles, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Lakeland Medical Center of Niles, suddenly as the result of an illness. She had been a patient at West Woods of Niles for a year.

Missy was born Jan. 28, 1967 in South Bend, the daughter of Ronald and Joan (Pesnell) Fairbanks, and grew up in the Niles and Edwardsburg area.

Missy is survived by her father, Ron, of Niles; a brother, Mark (Jean Coffey) Fairbanks of South Bend; and a nephew, Chandler Fairbanks.

She was predeceased by her loving mother, Joan Fairbanks in 1999.

Friends and family may gather at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg today from 6 to 8 p.m.

They may also gather at the funeral home Friday, June 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., when a procession will leave for Riverview Cemetery, on Portage Avenue, South Bend in the All Faith’s Mausoleum for a service at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in Garden Christis at Riverview.
