Winford “Bill” Isaac King, 89, of Cassopolis, was born in Macon County, Tenn. on September 19, 1921, and passed away in Niles on May 9, 2011.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy and honorably served during World War II. He established a successful sales career in the tri-state area. As a long time resident of Cassopolis, he was well-known for his many voyages on Diamond Lake. Bill was a friend to all and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann (Bill) Ehlers of Gold River, Calif. and Margueritte Donna Johnson of Chesterfield, Mo.; three grandsons, Thomas Patrick Vatterott, Jr. of Manchester, Mo., Joseph Blake (Katie) Johnson of Wildwood, Mo. and Joshua Brooke (Rosemary) Ehlers of Gold River, Calif.; and one great-grandson, Luke William Ehlers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Susie (Jenkins) King; and by his two sisters, Naoma G. Jones and Lela M. Eaton.
A memorial service will be Monday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Church of Christ, 60550 Crooked Creek Rd. (corner of M-60, also known as East State Street), Cassopolis.
Interment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions for the Diamond Lake Association, Attention: Treasurer, P.O. Box 122, Cassopolis, MI 49031-0122.
