Vikings sweep ’Cats

Niles and Brandywine wrapped up their regular season on Tuesday with a non-league doubleheader.
The Vikings won both games, edging the Bobcats 7-6 in the opener and then winning the nightcap, 11-1 in five innings.
Molly VanDeKeere was the winning pitcher in both games as she struck out a combined 10 batters.
In the first game, Charissa Spear had a home run, a single and two RBIs for the Vikings, who also got a home run from Hannah Porterfield. Amelia Ernsberger had a double, two singles and two RBIs.
Brandywine got three this and two RBIs from Ellie Price, while Miranda Smallman had three hits and three RBIs. Brande Overholt suffered the loss.
In the nightcap, Tala Gentry had a single, a double, a home run and three RBIs for the Vikings. Sarah Cramer singled a doubled, while Porterfield had a pair of triples. Niles also got three hits and three RBIs from Olivia Jordan and a triple from Brooke Wilson.
Tori Hunt had two hits for the Bobcats.
