Goldie Marie Magner, 99, of Elkhart, formerly of Dowagiac, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Riverside Village in Elkhart.
She was born April 13, 1912 in Marshall County, Ind. to William and Ethel (O’Connor) Cooper.
She was a member of South Wayne Community Church in Dowagiac and Coulter’s Chapel Church of God in Niles.
She married Albert Magner on Dec. 22, 1929 in South Bend. He preceded her in death in April 18, 1986.
She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Carla Sue Zimmer, Mary Zablocki and Betty Schmucker; one sister, Thelma McNabb; and two brothers, William Cooper and Alvin Cooper.
Marie is survived by five daughters, Helen Parsons of Edwardsburg, Gloria Woodruff of Lawton, Sandra Dash of Hartford, Judy (James) Zimmerman of Dowagiac, Trudy (John) Dudley of Dowagiac; two sons, Jack (Nancy) Magner of Elkhart and Arley “Bud” (Jane) Magner of Edwardsburg; one sister, Edith Tucker of Plymouth; 43 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends gathered Friday, May 20 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis with Pastor Bill Zebell officiating.
Interment followed in South Wayne Cemetery, Dowagiac.
