The Niles Garden Club and the Four Flags Garden Club held their annual plant sale Saturday at the Niles French Market area by Riverfront Park.
The weather was beautiful and Niles residents enjoyed the day by buying plants for their gardens. This is an annual sale with plants from garden club members who own gardens. They were also on hand to answer any questions people may have about gardening. A good time was had by all.
The Niles Garden Club will hold its next meeting on June 7 at the empty lot on Lake Street between 14th and 15th streets. Cathy Mauthe will demonstrate how to make a Hypertufu planter. Each person should bring at least one large leaf to be used as a mold for leaf castings. Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. business meeting with the program starting at 1:30 p.m.
