Eddies win golf title

EAU CLAIRE — Edwardsburg put the finishing touches on its three-peat as Lakeland Conference champions on Friday afternoon at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course.

The Eddies successfully defended their previous two championship by winning the league tournament by an amazing 41 strokes over runner-up Cassopolis.

Edwardsburg shot 312 compared to 353 for the Rangers. Bridgman was third at 358, Buchanan fourth at 364, Coloma fifth at 366, Brandywine sixth at 384 and host Berrien Springs seventh at 390.

The Eddies’ Chris Eaton also defended his conference medalist crown as he shot 67 on Friday.

Also named to the first team for Edwardsburg were Max Habicht, Dominic Razzano, Austin Tevlin and Pierce Borgeois.

Cassopolis’ Blaise Suseland and Brandywine’s Zack Rose were also first team members.

Cassopolis jamboree

The Edwardsburg Eddies locked up another Lakeland Conference golf championship on Thursday as it won the final regular season jamboree at Diamond Lake.

The Eddies shot 151 to easily defeat runner-up Cassopolis, which finished with a 168.

Edwardsburg’s Max Habicht took home medalist honors after recording a 37.

The Lakeland Conference will hold its season-ending tournament today at Indian Lake Hills in Eau Claire. Play begins at 9 a.m.
