Bridgman slips past Niles as Vikings fall to 11-10

BRIDGMAN — The Niles baseball team continues to struggle to score runs.

The visiting Vikings were knocked off by Lakeland Conference leader Bridgman Thursday afternoon, 3-1.

Bridgman struck first with a run in the first inning on a steal home by Jason Ashley as a hit was grounded out.

Niles managed to even it out in the second with a run by Zach Holt. However, the Vikings couldn’t muster any more runs after.

The Bees picked up two more runs in the fifth and then held on for a 3-1 victory.

Pitching for Niles was Mitchell Dehn, who struck out two and gave up three runs on six hits.

Holt finished with a double and a stolen base. Dehn also picked up the lone RBI for Niles.

Cameron and Connor Magro each had a pair of hits for the Bees.
