The Niles JV softball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Lakeshore on Tuesday.

The Vikings won the opening game 10-0 and then completed the sweep with a 10-2 victory in the nightcap.

In the first game, Niles scored 10 runs on 13 hits.

Pitching in the first game was Brittany Schmidt, who allowed only one hit to the Lancers.

Brooke Hojara, Courtney Ankrapp, Miranda Bailey, Brittany Schmidt, Drew Sabat and Carrie Easton each had two hits with Hojara and Schmidt picking up doubles.

In the second game, Ankrapp and Easton each went 3-for-3 for the Vikings. Bailey had two hits in the nightcap.

The winning pitcher was Ciara Peel, who allowed only two runs on five hits.

The two victories Tuesday night improved Niles’ overall record to 11-8. The Vikings are 4-0 against West Division teams.
