Blue Devils take two from Dowagiac

Visiting Gull Lake won both the boys’ and girls’ Wolverine Conference track meets Tuesday at Dowagiac Middle School.
The Blue Devils won the girls’ meet 95-40 and the boys’ meet 91-45.
Kaisha Martin, Creona Rodgers and Regina Kennedy both won multiple events for the Chieftains.
Martin won the 100-meters (12.75), the long jump (16-4) and was a member of the winning 400-meter relay team.
Martin was joined by Jacoya Brookins, Rodgers and Andrea Wade. They posted a time of 53.01.
Rodgers also won the high jump with a height of 4-8.
Kennedy won both the discus (88-6) and the shot put (35-4).

Austin Adams and Michael Bennett were dual winners for the boys’ team.
Adams won the 100-meters (11.06) and was part of the Chieftains’ winning 400-meter relay team.
Joining him on that squad was Bennett, Dontrell Tucker and Lucas Petro. They ran a time of 45.32.
Bennett also won the 200-meters with a clocking of 23.32.
Dowagiac’s other victory came in the 800-meters with Chris Gantt, who posted a time of 2:07.88.
