Bevins first at Wolverine JV track meet Monday

Dowagiac’s Shane Bevins took first place in the long jump at the Wolverine Conference JV meet on Monday.
Bevins’ winning jump measured 17-3.75.
Dowagiac also took first in the 400-meter relay with Carl Grant, Nick Thielmann, Aaron Adams and Lucas Petro running a time of 49.63.
Petro was second in the 200-meters (25.3), Bevins second in the high jump (5-3), Jacob Chapman second in the shot put (34-9) and second in the discus (90-8).
Dowagiac’s 800meter relay team of Thielmann, Adams, Bevins and Grant was second with a time of 1:43.7.
Petro finished third in the 100-meters with a time of 12.3.
Alex Carey finished second in the long jump for the girls’ team with a leap of 13-1.5. She was third in the 200-meters with a time of 32.18.
Holly Luth was third in the 3,200-meters with a time of 15:11.
Dowagiac took third in the 3,200-meter relay with Jennifer Schaus, Paige Schaus, Kendra Wilson and Luth running a time of 12:36.2.
