Lakeland tourney suspended

The Lakeland Conference Tennis Tournament at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind. was halted by a thunderstorm that began rolling through the area around 4 p.m.

There are still 11 matches that either need to be completed or started.

Those matches will resume on Monday at 4 p.m. at Edwardsburg High School. Brandywine’s No. 1 doubles team of Lauren Leonard and Kelsey Prestly captured the league championship before play was stopped. Leonard is a four-time conference champion.
