Jane H. Buettner, 86, of Sister Lakes, passed away at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Jane’s life began on June 15, 1924, in Chicago, the daughter of John W. and Hildur (Bjork) Anderson.

She was united in marriage to Helge Johnson in the late 1940s, and he preceded her in death in 1967. Jane later married Frank Buettner on Sept. 16, 1990, and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Jane ran her family’s restaurant on Chicago’s south side for many years before retiring to Sister Lakes. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star 263 and Silver Creek United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Glen Johnson of Sister Lakes.

Friends and family will gather on Monday from 12 to 3 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her funeral service will be at 3 p.m. led by Pastor Julie Greyerbiehl of Silver Creek United Methodist Church.

She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
