Some thrilling doubles action highlighted Wednesday afternoon’s tennis match between visiting Buchanan and Niles.

Three of the four flights were decided in three sets, while the fourth flight had a first set tiebreaker.

Niles and Buchanan split the singles flights, while the Vikings won three of the four doubles matches to earn the 5-3 non-conference victory.

Kristine Gordon and Nash Hughes were winners for the Bucks at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Niles’ Tearah Hutcheson and Haley Linville won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively.

Taylor Glick and Haley Davis won at No. 1 doubles for Niles, while Nichole Sly and Paxton Schaller were winners at No. 2 doubles.

The Vikings also claimed the No. 4 doubles win with Liz Rocha and Allie Fuller.

Buchanan’s doubles victory came from Audrey Funk and Kesley Patrick.
