PLAINWELL — The Dowagiac golf team locked up the Wolverine Conference championship on Tuesday by winning the Plainwell jamboree held at Lake Doster.

The Chieftains shot 158 to defeat runner-up Gull Lake by six strokes. The Blue Devils finished with a 164. Vicksburg was third with a 172, South Haven fourth with a 177 and Otsego fifth with a 172.

Chris Craft and Max Howe shared medalist honors as both shot 36.

Dowagic now has 89 points, while Gull Lake has 79. Vicksburg is third with 70, Otsego fourth with 63 and Plainwell fifth 47.
