DUHS golfers class of the field

SOUTH HAVEN — The beat goes on for the Dowagiac golf team.

The Chieftains were once again the class of the field on Monday at the Wolverine Conference Jamboree held at HawksHead in South Haven.

Dowagiac, which has won all but one of the league jamborees, shot 153 to win by 11 strokes over runner-up Gull Lake, which shot 164. Defending conference champion Vicksburg was third with a 165, while host Otsego and host South Haven rounded out the top five with scores of 167 and 176 respectively.

Chris Craft, who leads the league in stroke average, shot a one-under par 35 on Monday to pace the Chieftains. Jordan Juday, the lone underclassman in the line-up, shot even par 36. Kyle Ward and Max Howe shot 40 and 42 respectively, while Cody Fairleigh finished with a 44.

The Wolverine Conference heads to Plainwell today to tackle Lake Doster.
