Pearl L. Morros, 83, of South 14th Street in Niles, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in MIshawaka following an illness.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1927 in Dowagiac to Daniel Leotis and Lillian Isabel (Pecher) Benson.
She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1947 and lived in the Michiana area all of her life.
Pearl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was always active, never idle and enjoyed serving others. These traits made her an excellent homemaker, especially enjoying canning. Her greatest priority was caring for her family.
On June 26, 1947 in South Bend, she married Frank August Morros, who preceded her in death on July 26, 1985.
They were preceded in death by a daughter, Berta Belle Morros who died on July 22, 1979. Pearl was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Earl and other siblings Josephine, Walter and Georgianne.
Surviving family includes her step-children, Ray Leroy Morros of Mullins, South Carolina, Sharon Valorie Grey of Decatur, Mich. and Marcia Suzanne (Lynn) Selbee of Marcellus; daughters Beth Jean (Michael) Houseman and Rhea Evelyn (Edward) Konopinski, both of Niles and Bonnie Kay (Steven) Perez of Weston, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; brother Sherman Benson of Baytown, Tx. and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Pearl L. Morros will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Niles with Bishop Bill G. Crider officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning at noon on Wednesday. Contributions in memory of Pearl Morros may be made to the church.
Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
