Dowagiac Fire Department reports a house fire at 210 Grand Blvd. Sunday morning.

The call was received at 4:16 a.m. May 8, with the first engine arriving at 4:21.

The home was heavily involved with fire upon arrival.

The home’s owner and occupants were away at the time.

The fire was brought under control at 5 a.m., with crews clearing the scene at 6:30. There were no injuries reported. Sixteen city firefighters responded.

Shift Officer Robert Nelson said the blaze’s cause was under investigation.

Damage estimates were unavailable, but the home suffered extensive heat and smoke damage.
