Jessica Hannapel, 18, of Dowagiac, will be salutatorian of Lake Michigan Catholic High School’s 38 seniors at Commencement at 7 p.m. June 3.

She is the daughter of David and Jodi Hannapel, a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University.

Besides achieving a 3.987 grade point average, Jessica’s activities include Encore Dance Company, Encore Performing Arts, National Honor Society, Laker Drama Club, elementary aide and sixth grade faith formation aide.

Jessica’s future plans are she would like to direct films and possibly co-write or co-produce.

LMC’s Class of 2011 has two valedictorians with 4.0 GPAs, Emily Colter, 18, of Benton Harbor, who plans to attend Loyola or Vanderbilt universities for a pre-law degree, minoring in psychology; and Janine Golob, 18, of Stevensville, who would like to become a pharmacist after attending Aquinas College.
