VICKSBURG — Visiting Dowagiac dropped its first soccer match of the season as Wolverine Conference foe Vicksburg blanked the Chieftains 3-0 Monday night.
Vicksburg scored a pair of first half goals and added an insurance goal in the second half to earn the victory.
“We played tough, but Vicksburg took advantage of our mistakes by us not covering inside and giving up the through passes,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “We played on the turf for the first time this year and it showed. We did not judge the ball well. We have another tough game on Wednesday against Allegan at home.”
