KALAMAZOO — The Niles golf team finished fifth at the Loy Norrix Invitational on Tuesday.

The Vikings finished with a 345, which was 37 strokes behind champion Battle Creek Lakeview, which shot 308.

Kalamazoo Christian finished second at 324 and Lakeshore third at 329. Kalamazoo Central was fourth with a 336.

John Schrader led the Vikings with an 18-hole total of 78. Chris Noble was next with a 79, while Jared Langmeyer shot 91, Sam Clark 97, Aaron Carroll 99 and Dominic Wyland 100.

Both Schrader and Noble were on the all-tournament team.

Kalamazoo Christian’s Bailey Mathison was the medalist on the day after shooting 74.
