COLOMA — The Niles JV softball team was swept by host Coloma Thursday afternoon.

The Comets won the first game 8-2 and then completed the sweep with a 3-1 victory.

Miranda Bailey and Andrea Sabat each had two hits for Niles in the opening game. Ciara Peel and Courtney Jordan both doubld. Shayna Gaedtke drove the only two runs for the Vikings.

Brittany Schmidt worked the first five innings before giving way to Peel in the sixth.

In the nightcap, Schmidt and Bailey both doubled for Niles, which also got hits from Courtney Ankrapp, Jordan and Sabat.

Schmidt took the loss in the circle.
