Melinda Faith Waller, 55, of M-140, Niles, died at 6:56 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph following a brief illness.
She was born July 17, 1955 in Michigan to Murray K. Parker and Edna (Spenner) Parker. She was a lifetime Niles resident. She was employed at Oat Bimbo Bakeries in Elkhart, Ind.
Melinda was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Niles, where she was active in the life of the church, serving as a deacon, Stephen Minister and in the Love Inc. office. She was a registered nurse and government-certified welder. She enjoyed running and exercising. She loved being a wife and mother.
Melinda married David D. Waller on June 29, 2000 in Niles. He survives.
She is also survived by a stepson, David D. Waller II of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Danielle Donite Waller of South Bend; and a step-granddaughter, Mayliha Zielinski.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Niles with the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Friends called beginning one hour prior to services at the church.
Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home of Niles.
