Anthony E. “Tony” Sobieralski, 71, of Honeysuckle Lane and formerly of West Bertrand Road in Niles, died at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph following an extended illness.

Mr. Sobieralski was born Dec. 2, 1939 in South Bend to Edward and Mary (Balon) Sobieralski. Anthony graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in South Bend and lived most of his life in Niles.  He retired from Total Industry in South Bend.

Anthony was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles .He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the area and up north, spending time with his family and racing cars.

Mr. Sobieralski is survived by his sister, Theresa Leazenby of Niles; three nephews; two nieces; one grandniece; six grandnephews; one great-grandniece; and one great-grandnephew.

The family will gather privately for services.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home of Niles.
