Harry J. Hibiske, 86, of Niles, died at 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Meadowview Assisted Living in Cassopolis of natural causes.

He was born June 4, 1924 in Niles.

He was a lifetime area resident and World War II veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a barber for more than 50 years.

Harry married Shirley Gail (Shirk) Hibiske on July 3, 1948 in Dowagiac. She survives.

He is also survived by his daughters, Janice Ellison and Connie Holston; a brother, Bob Hibiske; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service  and burial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at Bertrand Cemetery in Niles. The Buchanan American Legion will be performing military honors.
