Weather wipes out area sports schedule again

This time it was rain, not snow that wiped out the area sports schedule for the second day in a row.
Rain moved into the area overnight and pretty much stuck around the entire day, forcing athletic directors to once again postpone sporting events.
Gone from Tuesday’s schedule was Dowagiac’s Wolverine Conference track meet against visiting Gull Lake, which was rescheduled for May 17.
Niles’ track meet at St. Joseph was postponed as well. The athletic directors of those two schools are looking at the end of May for a reschedule date.
The Lakeland Conference golf match was canceled for the second straight day. Brandywine was supposed to host Tuesday’s event at Brookwood. That match has been slated for May 2.
The Bobcats also postponed their conference doubleheader against visiting Coloma. Those games will be made up on April 29.
Edwardsburg postponed a trio of events slated for Tuesday.
The Eddies’ baseball game with White Pigeon has been moved to April 28, while the softball twinbill with Elkhart Memorial has been moved to May 12.
Edwardsburg’s soccer match at Coloma has been recheduled for today.
Cassopolis also lost three events on Tuesday.
The Rangers were scheduled to play Lakeland Conference doubleheaders against Bridgman and host Lakeshore in tennis.
None of those events have been rescheduled at this time.
