Weather forces a few postponements Monday

Area residents awoke to a fresh coat of snow on the roadways and lawns Monday morning, which forced a number of cancellations and postponements.
Niles had its soccer match at Three Rivers canceled, while it also canceled the Ring Lardner track meet.
Brandywine had its track meet at Edwardsburg postponed to perhaps Thursday, while the Lakeland Conference canceled its golf jamboree at Coloma.
Dowagiac canceled all of its sporting events slated for Monday afternoon.
Several of them will be made up in May, while some will not be made up at all.
The Chieftains were supposed to host Lake Michigan Catholic in soccer, but that match has been canceled and will not be made up. Neither will the Dowagiac Middle School track meet.
Postoned were Dowagiac’s varsity baseball game against Lake Michigan Catholic, the golf team’s Wolverine Conference Jamboree at Otsego and the JV and varsity tennis matches against Vicksburg.
The tennis matches, along with golf jamboree will all be made up on May 3.
No make-up date has been set for the baseball game against LMC.
Dowagiac’s soccer match against Cassopolis, which was rescheduled for this coming Friday, has been canceled and will not be made up.
The Chieftain golf team will make up its Wolverine Conference Jamboree at South Haven, which was postponed last Friday, on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
