Walter Lee Fox, 75, of U.S. Highway 31 North in Berrien Springs, died at 8:49 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph following an extended illness.
Mr Fox was born Aug. 24, 1935 in Edmond, W. Va. to Walter Waymond and Nettie Beulah (Wilson) Fox. Walter moved to Niles in 1965 from West Virginia. He retired in 1997 from Berrien Bus in Berrien Springs and had also been a former employee of Essex Wire Co. in Berrien Springs.
He was a member of More Abundant Life Tabernacle in Berrien Springs. He enjoyed rebuilding and refurbishing bicycles.
On Feb. 23, 1958 in Lookout, W. Va., he married the former Phyllis A. Phares, who survives.
Surviving family also includes their children, Glenn Allen (Barbara) Fox and Janice Lee Fox, both of Berrien Springs; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly K. Tyler, who died Oct. 2, 2010; a son, Tracy Lee Fox, who died March 7, 1959; three brothers; and one sister.
The family will be gathering privately for services.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
