Kathleen M. Burton, 79, of Mason Street, Niles died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Regency Place Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend following a brief illness.

She was born June 28, 1931 in Coffee County, Tenn. to Limmie T. Frizzell and Annie (Ensey) Frizzell. She grew up in Tennessee and lived in Niles most of her life.

Kathleen retired in 1987 after 45 years of service at Simplicity Pattern Co. in Niles. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and baking.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Miller of Niles and Roseann (Bill) Clemans of Niles; son, Ray (Christine) Burton of South Bend; grandchildren, Dennis Dimmitt and Denise (Chris) Norris; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Kayla and Jerry Dimmitt, Kyle, Tyler and Kaitlyn Van Laecke and Terrin, Ashlin and Kierstin Norris.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Dimmitt; parents, Limmie and Annie Frizzell; and a brother, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Aaron Junior Frizzell, who died in 1945.

The family will gather privately for services at the graveside.

Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Manchester, Tenn.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
