Host Brandywine won five of the seven flight championships on Saturday at the Lakeland Academy to capture its own indoor invitational.
The Bobcats swept the doubles flights and won one singles championship to score 13 points. South Haven finished second with nine points and Constantine third with two.
Dowagiac withdrew from the tournament as its boys’ basketball team played in the state semifinals Friday night in East Lansing.
The lone singles champion for Brandywine was Jessica Blank, who captured the second flight. Alyssa Robbins, Taylor Mattiford and Lauren Hopper all finished second for the Bobcats in singles competition.
Lauren Leonard and Kelsey Prestly captured the No. 1 doubles title, while Ashley DeJonge and Lena Miles were champions at second doubles.
Winning the No. 3 doubles crown for Brandywine were Rachel Gipson and Cassidy Purucker. Cassie Kelly and Alissa Gamble were champions at No. 4 doubles for the Bobcats.
“It was a good way to begin our season,” veteran Brandywine coach Joe Marazita said. “Lauren Hopper used her speed to compete well for her first time out. Even thought it wasn’t their first rodeo, Lauren and Kelsey just cruised as did Jessica at No. 2 singles.”
The Bobcats are back in action today as they host cross-town rival Niles at Plym Park. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
Brandywine will also host Bridgman and Eau Claire on Tuesday. The Bobcats and Bees are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. in a Lakeland Conference match. Brandywine will play the Beavers at approximately 5:45.
