Elkhart Central rallies to defeat Edwardsburg

ELKHART, Ind. — Visiting Edwardsburg was outscored 17-4 in the fourth quarter Tuesday night as Elkhart Central rallied for a 64-51 non-conference boys’ basketball victory.
The Eddies (10-5) lead 23-17 after one quarter of play, but the Blazers cut their advantage to 33-32 by halftime.
Elkhart Central (10-9) outscored Edwardsburg 47-28 over the final three quarters to earn the victory.
The two teams were knotted at 47-47 heading into the final quarter.
Josh Kozinski led the Eddies with 19 points, while Kyle Dale added 14 and Dominic Razzano six.
Mason Braden scored a game-high 28 points for the Blazers. John Stahl and Terrell Street both finished with 10.

COLOMA — The host Coloma Comets tried to derail the Edwardsburg express last Friday night en route to its showdown with Bridgman.
The Eddies were able to stave off the upset bid by the Comets and remain undefeated in the Lakeland Conference wtih a 42-38 victory in boys’ basketball action.
Josh Kozinski led the Eddies wtih 16 points, while Kyle Slack added 10 and Kyle Dale 8.

COLOMA — The Edwardsburg girls’ basketball team kept on track for its showdown against Brandywine in the regular season finale by pulling out a 46-43 victory over Coloma Friday night.
Sarah D’Amico led the Eddies with 12 points, while Rachel Vite added 10 points. Hannah Hack finished with seven points as the Eddies improved to 13-3 overall and 9-1 in the Lakeland Conference.

Host Edwardsburg blanked Napoleon 21-0 in the second quarter Saturday night to pull away to a 65-28 non-conference victory in girls’ basketball.
The Eddies led 7-6 after one quarter, but extended their advantage to 28-6 at the intermission.
The Eddies continued to pour it on in the second half, scoring 37 points to earn the easy victory.
Emily Kozinski and Rachel Vite both scored 13 points for Edwardsburg, which also got 10 points from Sarah D’Amico.
