Two hurt as vehicle runs into Porter tree

CASSOPOLIS — Two teen-agers were injured Thursday in Porter Township when the vehicle they were riding in left Union Road, south of U.S. 12, and struck a tree.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 27, Samantha Shreiner, 18, lost control of her southbound vehicle on Union Road due to icy and snowy conditions. Her passenger, Cody Slabaugh, 18, was also injured. Both were transported to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital by Porter Township ambulance.
Porter Township fire and ambulance personnel assisted the sheriff’s office.
