Sandra A. Kulp, 72, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 while a patient at Woodland Manor of Elkhart.
She was born Feb. 12, 1938 in South Bend, the daughter of the late Charles and Dora Frances (Rolen) VanRie. She lived in the Michiana area most of her life.
Sandy was a nursing assistant in the health care program. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a hospitalman.
Her first marriage was to Claude Kinder, and that ended in divorce. She was then married in June 4, 1973 in South Bend to R. LaMar Kulp, who died Jan. 11, 2008.
Surviving are her children: Gwendolyn (T.J.) Stahly and Denise Warren, both of Edwardsburg; Evelyn Milburn of Houston; Jackie Kinder of Katy, Texas; and Eric Kinder of Greeley, Colo. There are stephchildren: Brendy Kulp of South Bend; Bruce (Michele) Kulp of Edwardsbug; Dave (Michelle) Kulp of Elkhart; and Dennis (Denise) Kulp of Mechanicsville, Va. There are six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. She had one brother, Steve (Darlene) VanRie of Conyers, Ga., and one sister, Barbara Canter of Mishawaka.
Friends may visit Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St. (U.S. Highway 12), Edwardsburg.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, where friends may gather beginning at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor at Hope United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Adamsville Cemetery with the U.S. Navy Honor Guard folding the flag and playing “Taps.”
