Gerald Norris Ott, 68, of South 13th Street in Niles, died at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at home, of natural causes.

He was born on Aug. 20, 1942 in Tuckerman, Ark. to his parents, Loy and Erma Ott. He lived in Niles for 58 years.

He was in the grocery business for 36 years.

On Oct. 6, 1961 he married JoAnn (Best) Ott in Buchanan, who survives. He is also survived by his mother, Erma Ott; son David (Sue) Ott of Niles; sister Betty “Susie” Tittle, also of Niles; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loy Ott; son Daniel N. Ott and daughter Terri R. Ott.

Friends may call between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan.

Services will follow at noon on Wednesday at the funeral home with pastor Charles Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home of Buchanan.
