Ranger split Lakeland Conference games with Bees

The Cassopolis girls’ basketball team rallied from an 11-5 first quarter deficit to post to 42-29 Lakeland Conference victory over Bridgman on Friday night.

The Rangers outscored the Bees 12-6 in the second quarter to knot the score at 17 heading to the locker room at halftime. Cassopolis continued its comeback in the third quarter, outscoring Bridgman by a point to take a 24-23 lead into the final eight minutes of play.

The Rangers poured in 18 fourth quarter points, while holding the Bees to just six.

Reese Ellison led all scorers with 14 points for Cassopolis, which also got 13 points from Savannah Sullivan and eight points from Tammy Lee. Lela Broussard chipped in with seven.

Rachel Stremm led the Bees with 10 points.

Bridgman scored 24 first quarter points and hit 15 3-pointers against host Cassopolis Friday night in a 77-50 Lakeland Conference boys’ basketball victory.

The Bees outscored the Rangers 24-10 in the opening quarter and never looked back.

Bridgman led 47-22 at halftime and 57-32 heading to the final quarter.

Cameron Magro had a game-high 24 points, including six 3-pointers, while Michael Kamp added 19 points, including five triples. The Bees also got 14 points from Conner Magro.

Jacob Lee and Oliver Fiala both scored 12 points for the Rangers, who also got nine points from Nate Hartline.
