If not for immigrants, none of us would be here

To the editor:

Here are some helpful thoughts. The Pilgrims migrated here. Ancestors of white people migrated here. Black people, or people of color, arrived here from elsewhere. Oriental people arrived here from elsewhere.

“Native Americans” had ancestors who migrated here from elsewhere.

Migrations have been reported, long ago, through the northwest Alaska straits.

Also, Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki story described how groups left evidence by sculptures that point to their having followed ocean currents and arrived to the Americas, to this hemisphere.

There are North America, Central America and South America. We’re all Americans in this hemisphere.

Even if one was not to notice this at first, it helps to realize that the Higher, the Great Spirit, God, has put people in this country and we need to respect the will of God and not impose our will on people.

If it was not for immigrants, no one would be here (think of ancestors).

The United States has been founded and become great because of the ideas, love and dedication of many people.

If we look at the U.S. shield, it says “E Pluribus Unum.”

That means “out of many, one.”

Some of us have strived for years towards helping people be safe from fire as much as possible and have helped in ambulance work and teaching about fire safety.

Some have done teaching at several places in this country, and continue to strive to do so.

Some have worked for a long time on making vehicles for the people here.

Some have provided the financing for people to succeed in life.

Some have worked in the medical field, to help people’s health and quality of life; and have helped many people with their giving birth; and with alleviating pain.

Many people have done their part to make this country “out of many, one,” like the U.S. shield says.

Some — many — have worked in the U.S. before retiring.

Some have worked elsewhere before arriving here.

It’s really essential to remember the thoughts mentioned here ongoing into the future, then we’ll all have a more constructive, happier future.

Sincere best wishes to all.
